Golf Recovery with Dr. Ashley
Hi, Dr. Ashley here. I love golf because it challenges you physically, mentally, and keeps you connected to the people around you. But I also know how common it is for golfers to accept pain, stiffness, and fatigue as “just part of the game.” It doesn’t have to be that way.
A little tired after a round? Normal.
Some soreness after walking 18? Understandable.
But sharp back pain, elbow pain, limping to the car, struggling to bend over, or feeling wrecked for 2 to 3 days after your round? That’s a red flag.
At Phoenix Performance & Rehab, we help golfers recover the right way so they can keep playing for years to come. Below are four simple recovery videos I use to help golfers reset after a round.
Ready to play without paying for it after the round? Book with Phoenix Performance & Rehab today.
1. Hip Rotation Reset
3 reps of about 8 seconds each side
Great for opening the hips and restoring rotation after repetitive swings. If you’re still at the course, use the modified curb version before heading home.
2. Prayer Stretch
A simple way to unload the low back and shoulders after hours of swinging, walking, and carrying tension through your posture.
3. Child’s Pose Reset
A simple recovery position to help open the hips, relax the lower body, and reset breathing after a long round. Great for unwinding tension built up from walking, swinging, and standing for hours.
4. Golfer’s Elbow Routine
For golfers dealing with forearm tightness, tendon irritation, or elbow soreness after gripping and swinging. Great for both prevention and recovery.
Finish Strong, Recover Smarter
Golf should challenge you, not break you down. If you constantly need days to recover, can’t play back-to-back rounds, or your back/elbow keeps barking every time you tee it up, your body is asking for help.
At Phoenix Performance & Rehab, we combine rehab, movement assessment, hands-on treatment, and performance-based care to keep golfers moving well for the next decade of their life.
